Spring Is Here ????

Spring is suppose to be here. We have wet weather & more wet weather!!! Our daffodils bloomed a couple of weeks ago & then we got a cold spell. Then a real warm spell. Back to cold & now warm & real wet. Go figure.
I finally finished my Doe mount for our state show (Va.) My husband mounted a buffle head. (duck) We both to a 3rd place ribbon.
Now I am working on another Doe for the world show. The world show is held in the Us every other year, with the off year over seas. I should of started her months ago. We leave May 8th bound for St Charles Missouri with one stop on the way to pick up his daughter Andi. This trip is her Graduation gift. (yes you heard me right) Andi is a special young lady. She has many talents. Archery, flower arranging, hunting, fishing, welding, drawing, languages. just to mention a couple.
Now that I have bored you to pieces, I'm off to help get a customers deer head done. I will post a photo next time. My mom posted a couple on her blog.
Till next time

It's been awhile

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I get so caught up in my day to day stuff I forget I own a computer. My Mom gets alittle miffed with me. I can't blame her I just don't have alot of extra time. The photo I put up today is the one & only bird I've done so far. I got a second place ribbon at our show last year. I personally think the judge was very lenient with me. My bird was pretty pitiful.
Well enough of that. I need to put up this photo for ya'll. Have A Great Day !!!

Happy 2009 !

Happy 2009 !!!

Sorry it's been a while since I last wrote. Working in the world of retail during the holidays makes for a very busy time for me. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I couldn't of had a better one myself. The only thing missing was my family far away.

Alot has happened in the last couple weeks. I got a chance to go hunting a few times, (photo below) actually managed some down time also. Ya guta love the stay in your jammie's all day time !!

We did loose one of our cats Little Bit. She belonged to Miss Bea the lady who lives my husband & I . She is having a hard time with the loss.(photo below) Little Bit was very sick and we had to send her off to the rainbow bridge. Not an easy decision to make. So with that I will move on to a more cheerier subject.

Football !!! My Eagles just started playing so I will upload my photos, then change my shirt & get in my comphy chair in front of the tv for what better be a win !! I heard ya'll laughing. Someone has to be their fan !!

Have A great nite !!

Happy Saturday !!

Good afternoon, I'll have ya'll know that I have been trying to get photos of our baby birds but I unlike my Mom can not take a photo that looks anything like what it is suppose to look like. My bird photos all look like a big blur. But I did manage to get some beautiful photos of our southern sky before the Big Moon. I'm posting my favorite one. I have lots to get done this afternoon so I'll say by for now. I'll try and post later tonight.

Just a quick Hello

Today is friday and also late in the evening. I didn't want Ya'll to think I ran away. Retail work this time of year is no picnic. The closer we get to Christmas the uglier people get. It's amazing how a very special holiday brings out the worst in everyone.
Tommorrow I'll have time to gather a photo or two to post in between errands, cleaning house and working on my doe cape.
I hope this past week was a good one for everyone. I might start my Christmas shopping tommorrow. ( I have gotten one or two things)
Good night.

Thank You !!

I want to thank everyone for their wonderful comments & words of encouragement. I also love to read my Moms blog. She has a way with words. I unfortunately did not inherit that talent. My Husband on the other hand is very gifted when it comes to writing. Soon I will have some photos to post. I'm still going thru them all & resizing them for the web.
A little about me. I live in southern Virginia. I have been married to a wonderful man for 13 years. We have been together for 16. I have no children of my own. My Husband Mac has 2. A son 22 and a daughter 17. We have a lady who has lived with us for about 15 years, Miss Bea. Our house is full of animals. Yes live ones. We have two dogs, 3 cats & Now with the birth of some babies, 11 zebra finches.
I work full time at our local Walmart as the sporting goods department Manager. I have been there 6 years as of February. During the summer I work at a bait shop that's on one of our local lakes on weekends. My Husband is an assistant quality assurance manager for a ship repair company.
We enjoy going fishing and hunting. We also go to state taxidermy competitions with our work. We have done pretty well. As amateurs of course. We will be going to the world show in May 2009. We are both going to take a piece to enter. I have rambled on enough. Thank you again for all the support.

Thank You Mom !!

Today I decided to start a blog. Thanks to my Mom !!! She started one not long after she lost her Husband. My Mom does digital scrapbooking and this has been a healing tool for her. I on the other hand have very different talents. I love to crochet, knit,go hunting and fishing, and of course we can't forget Taxidermy with my Husband. Yes you heard it right Taxidermy. I'm sure this was not the direction my mother wished for her oldest Daughter, but she supports me none the less.
I will post more later. Thank You for taking the time to view my blog. I'm still working on this blog so look for much more to come.
